‘Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra’ Everything We Know So Far

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Skydance title as of November 7th, 2025.

Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra is coming soon—here is everything we know about the game so far. The game was first revealed during the 2024 State of Unreal showcase which premiered on March 20th. The game is developed by Skydance New Media in collaboration with Marvel Games with inspiration from the Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers Marvel Comics series. The game reveal was accompanied with a cinematic trailer rendered fully in Unreal Engine 5.4 you can view the trailer below:

The story, headed by Skydance New Media’s Creative Director Amy Hennig, is set in an occupied Paris set in the World War II era. Captain America is tasked with taking down Hydra and little does he know that the current king of Wakanda, Azzuri aka the Black Panther, has the same goal in mind. The two despite their differences will have to team up to take on this threat. Read the official synopsis below:

In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Skydance New Media and Marvel Games share an original story where an ensemble of four heroes must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy.

During the State of Unreal, Amy went on to discuss the level of detail the game can achieve with Unreal Engine 5.4 by touring a level in the game, the preview ending with an extended look at the confrontation between Captain America and Black Panther on the bridge.

Who’s In The Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra Cast?

Six members of the cast were revealed alongside the game’s announcement. Starting with the playable characters, Khary Payton plays Azzuri, Drew Moerlein plays Captain America, Megalyn Echikunwoke plays Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris and Marque Richardson plays Gabriel Jones, a U.S. soldier and member of the Howling Commandos.

Per the blog post, the four characters mentioned above will all be playable at different points of the game.

Meanwhile, Lyne Renée plays Julie, a key ally in the French Resistance and Joel Johnstone plays Howard Stark, father of Tony Stark / Iron Man.

Pricing has not been revealed for the upcoming title however we suspect the game will retail for $70 USD which is the new normal for AAA games. The game was previously set for release in 2025, followed by an Early 2026 window to allow for further polishing. Now, the game has been pushed beyond that in a recent post from Skydance social media pages with a release at some point during 2026. Platforms are yet to be announced but it will more than likely be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

The game is developed by Skydance New Media in collaboration with Marvel Games. The game will likely launch in 2026, but at this time it is unconfirmed.
