Martin Scorsese Reveals He Has Been Cast In Jonah Hill’s Next Film
Legendary Hollywood Academy Award-winning director, Martin Scorsese, has revealed that he has a role in Jonah Hill’s next directorial feature ‘Outcome’.
Having directed 26 narrative features throughout his entire career, Martin Scorsese is no stranger to the language of cinema and film altogether. Even though Scorsese doesn’t particularly have a career in acting, he does pick up a few acting roles here and there such as in Akira Kurosawa’s Dreams, a voice acting role in Shark Tale and small cameos by him in his own films.
This year though, Scorsese will be acting in two projects, the first being The Studio, starring Seth Rogen as a Hollywood producer striving to survive in a world where it is increasingly difficult for art and business to live together, with Martin Scorsese playing himself. The second project being In the Hand of Dante, the Julian Schnabel-directed film which has Scorsese also serving as Executive Producer. The film, starring Oscar Isaac, will follow a priest (presumably played by Al Pacino) who discovers the most valuable art object which is the original manuscript of Dante’s The Divine Comedy.
Martin Scorsese’s Third Acting Role This Year
The news came from Scorsese himself last night when he was talking with TCM host, Dave Karger, who happened to ask him whether there would be another version of his life where he would’ve pursued a career in acting instead of directing. Martin Scorsese responded that he’ll make an appearance next in Outcome, the upcoming directorial feature from Jonah Hill which follows a damaged Hollywood star who must confront his demons and make amends after he is extorted with a mysterious video clip from his past.
Scorsese has added a comment on what his role will be in Jonah Hill’s Outcome, telling TCM that he plays “a washed up agent for young actors and Keanu Reeves comes back to make amends.” The Hollywood comedy, directed by Jonah Hill, will also star himself alongside Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz.
It’s also important to note that this will not be Martin and Jonah’s first time collaborating as they’ve worked together previously in The Wolf of Wall Street.
It’s unknown what Scorsese has been up to lately after 2023’s Killers of the Flower Moon in terms of directing other than that he’ll be directing a film adaptation of Devil in the White City with Leonardo DiCaprio set to star. It’s been reported long ago that he’ll be directing a film adaptation of Marilynne Robinson’s Home and a Jesus Christ film which was set to shoot in Italy, Egypt and Israel, but no one really knows what happened to those two projects.
