One of the biggest names in pop, Lady Gaga, is back for a new single titled “Disease”.
Following a poor year with the critical and financial failure of Joker: Folie a Deux, and a flop with her tie-in album Harlequin, Lady Gaga is back with a new plucky single titled “Disease”.
The single rollout has been a pretty extensive one, with riddles and easter eggs in its marketing, before finally being released on October 25th. Last week, streaming platforms rereleased several tracks from several Gaga albums to spell out the word “disease” using the first letter of each track. The pre-save website teased song lyrics, and by taking the lyric from the presave website and putting it into the URL bar with dot com following it, you would be brought to the next lyric and so on and so forth.
“Disease” is the first single from Gaga’s upcoming album, and it harkens back to her older albums, bearing similarities to some of her classic hits. The song boasts a playtime of 3 minutes 49 seconds, and the accompanying lyric video includes a grimey TV that plays the lyrics via what is probably VHS.
“Disease” is written, performed, and produced by Lady Gaga, with Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and Michael Polansky serving as additional writers. Andrew Watt and Cirkut also serve as producers. The song was released by Interscope Records and is now available to stream on all major streaming platforms. You can listen to the song below on Spotify:
