Following the commercial success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which had the 3 Spider-Men unite after travelling through the multiverse, there was no doubt that Marvel and Sony would not only greenlight another film but another trilogy! After all, the film grossed almost 2 billion dollars at the worldwide box office.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know when the next installment in the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise will be released. Recently, Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah, known for directing the first and last episodes of Ms. Marvel, were asked whether they would be down to direct the film or not, and they said they would do so only if Michael Keaton were in the film.

If Marvel and Sony were to put Michael Keaton in the film, they would probably have to make the multiverse an element of the film. Michael Keaton’s character Adrian Toomes / The Vulture last appeared in the Sony Spider-Man Universe’s Morbius. Kevin Feige’s Comments

Recently, Kevin Feige mentioned that he and Amy Pascal are both working on the new installment in the franchise and that they have writers working on Spider-Man 4. In an interview with Gizmodo, Feige said “We have writers who are going to be delivering us a draft relatively soon.” Yesterday, Feige confirmed in an interview with Cinemablend that they will be looking for another director for the film instead of Jon Watts due to his busy schedule.

Despite not knowing who the new director will be, we can predict that it will probably be an indie filmmaker or someone who doesn’t have a big name. Ideally, Sam Raimi would be a great choice, but he may be busy with his new film titled Send Help and may possibly tackle Doctor Strange 3, or even one of the upcoming Avengers films. Hopefully, we’ll get a full announcement soon.
