Following his explosive beef with Drake and unprecedented unity at his LA show The Pop Out, Kendrick Lamar is back for a new music video.

Kendrick Lamar, one of Compton’s most high-profile rappers, will reportedly be shooting a new music video in his hometown. Entertainment site TMZ has reported that Kdot will be returning to his home turf with increased security (including sheriff deputies) for the new music video, to keep himself, his crew and the community safe while doing so.

The news comes from law enforcement sources so while this does not lend any industry inside information, we can only speculate as to what song he is filming for. The artist most recently dropped some diss tracks in a battle with Drake, who the rapper launched allegations of pedophilia against.

The beef in question has led authorities within the Compton area (and Kendrick Lamar) to question the safety of the area, considering the volatile nature of the beef, and the history of gang violence. The amount of security is undisclosed for security reasons but a source tells TMZ that Lamar & Co. are paying big with a rate of $120/hour.

Following the success of his first live performances of the songs at the Kia Forum in Inglewood yesterday, it can be reasonably deduced that the shoot is for either “Euphoria” or “Not Like Us”, with the latter topping charts.

Kendrick’s last music video was for his song “Count Me Out” from his 2022 album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, which was uploaded a year and a half ago back in December of 2022. Lamar has no official projects upcoming.
