‘Fortnite’ Chapter 7, Season 2: Showdown Teaser: The Ice King’s Reign Begins

Next week on March 19th, Fortnite enters its second season of Chapter 7. It’s been an eventful few weeks over the course of Season 1: Pacific Break as we’ve celebrated Winterfest, Valentine’s Day through the Love & Legends Event and many more. This season has also seen a bigger focus on the game’s overall lore with the return of The Seven, namely The Order and a variant The Visitor from Fortnite OG who with the help of Jones, Hope and others are set to face off against the Dark Voyager. The Dark Voyager isn’t alone as we’ve learnt he’s gained the help of the Ice King, a character who debuted all the way back in Chapter 1, Season 7. The team up was first teased with the Love & Legends promotional video which saw Dark Voyager and Ice King team up to fight The Order and The Visitor. Teasers for the upcoming season began as early as February 28th when we were given an updated version of the Chapter 7, Season 1 Key Art which featured Zero Point shards rifting in locations from past seasons with the Ice King’s Castle standing out above the rest. Following that we’ve seen a number of Story Moments including The Visitor’s Arrival, Dark Voyager’s Departure from the island (and his return shortly after). 

Today marketing for Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 2 has taken a big leap with the debut of a Cinematic Teaser Trailer featuring an upgraded version of the Ice King alongside some special guests which you can view below:

Hours before, we also had a new post from the Fortnite social pages teasing this new version of the Ice King captioned, “All hail the ruler of ice and snow.”

What Happens In The ‘Fortnite‘ Chapter 7, Season 2 Teaser Trailer?

The teaser trailer which lasts for 25 Seconds opens with a shot of the Ice King’s Castle, it’s on a much grander scale compared to the one seen on Polar Peak in Chapter 1. Inside the castle, we see the Ice King’s throne followed by our first look at this updated version of the Ice King who appears covered in ice (this appears to be an edit style for the Ice King from Fortnite OG Season 7). As Ice King walks down his throne room we see The Prisoner, a character originally trapped at the bottom of the Polar Peak Castle, frozen once again. Next up is Orelia, a character which debuted in Chapter 2: Season 6 and is part of the Midas’ Revenge Set. We then see Captain America (inspired by his outfit in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger) and finally The Foundation (also sporting an updated design). 

The teaser then takes an Avengers: Doomsday inspired twist, a yellow and blue background is seen followed by the caption, “The Foundation And The Ice King… Will Return In… Fortnite: Showdown.” We then see the Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 2 Logo followed by the release date of March 19th, 2026. The words shift to, “MAR:    09:20    5:   9” before a countdown clock appears, counting down to the release of the new season.

From the teaser, we can assume that Ice King, Captain America and The Foundation are all part of the Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 2 Battle Pass. The Prisoner featured in the trailer is the battle-pass exclusive version from Chapter 1, Season 7 while Orelia is an Item Shop Skin.

A full Cinematic Trailer is expected to premiere on March 19th, 2026, the launch date of Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 2.
