First ‘LEGO Fortnite’ x ‘Ninjago’ Trailer: Dragons Rise
Elemental Master of Lightning, Jay trains for an intense battle ahead in the first trailer for the LEGO Fortnite collaboration.
We’re almost at the end of LEGO Fortnite’s Palm Paradise Season and on December 4th, 2025 we got our first teaser for the next season with a twist. The LEGO Fortnite sent out a post with a cropped image, they then indicated that this is the first piece of a puzzle that the community would have to work together to form. Over the coming days, puzzle pieces were sent to various content creators and after a whopping 36 pieces we were given the first teaser image feautring a new location from an upcoming collaboration between LEGO Fortnite and LEGO’s long-running franchise, Ninjago. Ninjago (Formerly Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu) is an animated series produced by The LEGO Group based on LEGO toys of the same name. The series set in the fictional world of Ninjago follows Sensei Wu (Paul Dobson) and his students Kai (Vincent Tong), Jay (Michael Adamthwaite), Zane (Brent Miller) and Cole (Kirby Morrow: Seasons 1-14, Andrew Francis: Season 15) who are known as elemental masters. They train to face off against Sensei Wu’s archnemesis and brother Lord Garmadon (Mark Oliver). As the series progresses they face off against an array of different foes and they encounter new members of the team such as Lloyd (Jillian Michaels: Seasons 1-7 and Sam Vincent: Seasons 8-15), The Son of Garmadon who becomes the Green Ninja and Nya (Kelly Metzger), Kai’s Sister who starts off as the mysterious Samurai X before becoming the Elemental Master of Water.
The series, created by Michael Hegner and Tommy Andreasen premiered on January 14th, 2011 and concluded after 15 Seasons with “Crystalized” on October 1st, 2022. After the series’ 7th Season, “Hands of Time” a film titled The Lego Ninjago Movie hit theatres on September 22nd, 2017 and was directed by Charlie Bean, Paul Fisher and Bob Logan.
Following the conclusion of the original series, an ongoing sequel series Ninjago: Dragons Rising premiered on Netflix on June 1st, 2023. The original cast returns accompanied by newcomers Arin (Deven Mack), Sora (Sabrina Pitre) and Wyldfyre (Kazumi Evans). The Third season concluded on September 4th, 2025 with a fourth season set for a 2026 release.

What Happens In The ‘LEGO Fortnite’ x ‘Ninjago’ Trailer?

The trailer which lasts for 1 Minute and 27 Seconds opens with a shot of the Monastery, Jay is seen training and in between we see him face off against a variety of monsters including a storm-infused crab, blue bear and finally the source dragon of motion (which LEGO Fortnite Odyssey players were able to see flying in the sky during their matches). While the first two battles don’t go well, Jay is determined to defeat the source dragon, we end the cinematic portion of the trailer with Jay using Spinjitzu which transitions into gameplay. We see our first look at Kai in a port area as he attacks an enemy with an emerald sword. Jay is then seen in a snowy biome with Zane (who uses ice powers), Jay uses his lightning infused Nunchucks against a bear.
We see all four Ninja Cole, Jay, Kai and Zane wielding their signature weapon type rushing towards an onslaught of enemies this is also our first look at the Shurikens. We see Cole being able to dig underground with the Elemental Power of Earth, Zane is then able to freeze the water he walks on, Jay is able to shoot lightning rods similarly to the Thunderbolt of Zeus from Battle Royale Chapter 5: Season 2. The trailer ends with all four Ninja facing off against the Source Dragon.

What’s In the ‘LEGO Fortnite’ x ‘Ninjago’ Blog Post?

Following the release of the trailer, a blog post was uploaded revealing some more details about the upcoming update set for release this Thursday.
After indicating that the update is split into two parts (with part two launching sometime in 2026), we have confirmation that Zane, Jay and Cole will be made available in the Fortnite Item Shop. Kai will be an instant unlock found in the Ninjago LEGO Pass. Each character will also be playable in Battle Royale as they all come with Non-LEGO forms with Kai’s being revealed first. While Lloyd is featured in the game’s Key Art, it’s unclear how players will be able to unlock him.
Next up is the story content. After the update, players will spawn on the Ninjago Island and we begin at Monastery and are tasked with restoring peace to the island. We must master the elements of Ice, Lightning and Earth at their respective sanctums and prepare for the final battle.
In addition to learning the elements, we can use Spinjitzu after finding a Spinjitzu Scroll, players will also be able to wield Nunchucks and Shurikens.
Finally the Ninjago LEGO Pass will also include three major build guides as well as free and premium decor bundles.

Fortnite is developed by Epic Games and is available for free on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Mobile Devices. The LEGO Fortnite Odyssey x Ninjago collaboration begins on December 11th, 2025.
