Dunesday No More? Marvel Considering Moving Up ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ One Week
Avengers: Doomsday could be moving up by one week following the vacation of Jumanji 4 of its release date and IMAX screens.
Discussions have reportedly taken place for Avengers: Doomsday to move up a week from its current release date, quashing arguments and discourse about the dual release of Doomsday and Dune: Part Three. A new report from John Campea reportedly confirms recent rumours about the release date shift, stating that “Discussions have taken place” in the wake of a new set of free IMAX screens up for grabs.
Jumanji 4 vacated its release date and its IMAX exclusivity for December 11th, when it opted to move to December 25th for the Christmas/Boxing Day slot in the schedule. Following this news, Campea, as he explains in his latest YouTube video, contacted a source who confirmed that discussions have taken place, but Campea reiterates that this does not mean it is confirmed.

Avengers: Doomsday began its marketing with theatrical trailers (yes, plural) attached to the first four weeks of Avatar: Fire and Ash. In conjunction with this, a livestream countdown to December 18th was revealed, but it seems it may be rendered useless. In its original release date, the film would have limited premium format screens, mainly Dolby Audio screenings due to Dune: Part Three already locking in IMAX screenings way before Avengers: Doomsday arrived at that date.

Avengers: Doomsday is the latest film from Joe and Anthony Russo, and stars a ginormous ensemble cast led by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Also starring are Letitia Wright as Black Panther, James Marsden as Cyclops, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, India Rose Hemsworth as Love, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman, Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, and Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch.
