What Happens At The End of ‘Dune: Prophecy’ Season 1?
In the finale episode of Dune: Prophecy season 1, after freeing Ynez (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina) and Keiran (Chris Mason), Valya Harkonnen is shown what happened to Desmond Hart (Travis Fimmel) after his encounter with a sandworm on Arrakis via a flashback from his perspective. The ominous blue eyes that have been prevalent throughout the series are revealed to be the light of a thinking machine that operates on Desmond’s eye.
The machine implants a thinking machine on Desmond’s optic nerves which is the source of the virus. A shadowy figure is then revealed to be watching over the operation, however their identity is never shown. Valya awakens from the flashback and tells Tula she saw what they did to Desmond but couldn’t make out a face.
Valya attempts to take out the thinking machine from Desmond’s eye but Tula uses the voice to stop Valya and reveals to her that Desmond is her son. Tula convinces Valya not to hurt Desmond and so Valya leaves. Tula is then reunited with her long lost son and they share a hug together before Tula is arrested.
In the closing scene of the season Valya, Keiran Atreides and Princess Ynez travel to Arrakis where Valya says “The path to our enemy begins here.”
