‘Beyond The Spider-Verse’ Gets First Look And New Release Date
The third film in the acclaimed animated ‘Spider-Man’ series is crossing over to our universe a little later than anticipated.
During Sony’s panel Monday at CinemaCon, the Spider-Man franchise got a big spotlight. Half of the focus was on the newly announced Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while the other half was centered around the upcoming trilogy capper, Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse. Attendees of the panel were treated to a presentation from series producer Phil Lord and directors Justin K. Thompson & Bob Persichetti, where the team provided juicy new details on the project, including the release date.

The next film will pick up just seconds after the ending of Across The Spider-Verse which left our Spider-Man of this story, Miles Morales, as a multiversal fugitive and sees him end up trapped in a dystopian version of New York City and becomes captured by a dark mirror of himself, a variant of The Prowler named Miles G. Morales. Beyond The Spider-Verse will see Miles attempt to subvert the predetermined “Canon Event” of his father’s death as set up in the previous film.

Attendees at CinemaCon were treated to some brief footage that featured Miles and Gwen Stacy being pursued by The Spot with some other shots showing Miles teaming up with his alternate self, Miles G. First look images were also revealed publicly by Sony Pictures.
What Is The Release Date For Spider-Man Beyond The Spider-Verse?
Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse will hit theaters on June 7th, 2027. The film was originally dated for a March 2024 release, less than a year after Across The Spider-Verse, before being pushed.

The first film in the franchise, Into The Spider-Verse, grossed less than $400M at the box office back in 2019. Across The Spider-Verse however, saw a big leap in its box office, reaching nearly $700M worldwide. It’s no surprise that Sony feels confident enough to take their time to deliver something truly good instead of pushing out a rushed product.

Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse is directed by Justin K. Thompson & Bob Persichetti. The film stars Shamiek Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Jharrel Jerome as Miles G. Morales, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, and more. In theaters June 7th, 2027.
