Anya Taylor-Joy may be the latest casting in the next Lord of the Rings film per a new report. Production is set to start in just under two months in New Zealand, returning audiences to Middle Earth to see faces both new and old, its unknown whether Taylor-Joy will be playing the new or the old here. The news comes from DanielRPK, a popular industry insider, who alleges that Taylor-Joy is in talks to play the female lead of Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, the eighth instalment in Peter Jackson’s Middle Earth saga. This character could be a variety of people, such as Lady Arwen (previously played by Liv Tyler), the love interest to Aragorn (previously played by Viggo Mortensen). She could also be playing Galadriel, the ethereal being originated by Cate Blanchett.

As for her role in the story, that remains to be seen too, with the story seemingly revolving around Aragorn and Gandalf (Ian McKellen) hunting down Gollum (Andy Serkis) to learn information about the One Ring. Arwen, of course, could be seen in Aragorn centric scenes, whilst Galadriel is more closely associated with Gandalf.
