Andy Muschietti Says Production On ‘The Brave and the Bold’ Won’t Begin Anytime Soon
Here is an update on the production of the long-awaited DCU Batman film.
Ahead of the release of his new show IT: Welcome To Derry, director Andy Muschietti reportedly spoke with a fan about the upcoming DCU The Brave and the Bold film and its production.
All eyes are on Andy Muschietti as we edge closer and closer to the DC Studios film The Brave and the Bold. From the release of The Flash to the director’s subsequent hiring as director of the first DC Universe Batman film, fans have been livid due to his controversial past filmography. Many fans have even gone as far as to theorise that he has been fired from the role of director. However, a new report from Twitter user Afram Malki (@Gotham2739) alleges new information about The Brave and the Bold that affirms past thoughts.
Malki allegedly met with Muschietti at a bar following a concert, where he took an image with the famous director and asked him some questions about the upcoming DC Studios Batman film. All of this was revealed in a Twitter thread.
Reportedly, Muschietti is still attached to the film in a directorial capacity. He previously directed It, It Chapter 2, IT: Welcome to Derry, and 2013’s Mama.
Next, the film will reportedly not enter production for a long while as Matt Reeves works on pre-production for the Elseworlds film The Batman Part II, starring Robert Pattinson. This tracks with what James Gunn has previously said, stating that films featuring Batman will not release in the same year as Pattinson’s Batman.
Andy Muschietti is also aware that a writer has been attached to his film, giving the sense that Muschietti is at least aware of the goings ons regarding his film behind the scenes. He may also know plot details about the film, although Malki may have misremembered his exact quote about the question.

The Brave and the Bold is directed by Andy Muschietti and produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran for DC Studios.
