Justine Triet, who is famously known for directing and writing the Original Screenplay Academy Award-winning and Palme d’Or-winning courtroom drama, Anatomy of a Fall, reveals that she has two more projects in development.
Justine Triet’s Oscar-winning film, Anatomy of a Fall, follows novelist Sandra Voyter, who is suspected of murder after her husband’s death; their half-blind son faces a moral dilemma as the main witness of the incident. The film, starring Sandra Hüller and Swann Arlaud, received a lot of critical acclaim last year at the Cannes Film Festival, securing a Palme d’Or win, which is considered one of the most prestigious film awards.
The film also received five nominations at the 96th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress (Sandra Hüller) and Best Film Editing (Laurent Sénéchal), ultimately securing the Best Original Screenplay win. This puts Triet under a certain spotlight in Hollywood and the film industry as a whole, as everyone will be anticipating to see what she does next.
Justine Triet Has Two Projects In The Works
Triet has revealed at the 21st Marrakech International Film Festival to Deadline that she has two projects in development. Triet described both projects as being “very different” and that she’s in the writing process right now, “I am so happy to get back to work and I’m in the writing process right now.”
As usually known, the full process of creating a film can be difficult and exhausting, and with Triet still in the writing process at the moment, it’s certain that one of her upcoming films will not be coming any time soon. The closest one of her upcoming films could release is 2026 as it’s possible to see her submitting a screenplay soon with filming geared for next year, but regardless, who knows?
If anything too, it would be a delight to see one of the highlights of her last film, Messi the dog, show up in her next film. Despite being a dog, Messi was deemed as one of the best actors in Anatomy of a Fall. Furthermore, it would be exciting to see her work with Sandra again, as the director-actor duo proved themselves great in Anatomy of a Fall.
