‘Pluribus’ Season 2 Begins Casting Process, Hinting At Pre-Production Start
Vince Gilligan’s Emmy award winning series is now in pre-production at Apple TV.
Apple TV has begun casting for the upcoming second season of its hit TV show Pluribus, created by Breaking Bad mastermind Vince Gilligan.
An open casting call was sent out earlier today in search of Middle Eastern actresses to play a character in an upcoming episode of the series. It’s set to to be filmed in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as opposed to Albuquerque, where most of the first season was shot.
Pluribus follows an apocalyptic event called The Joining that has infected most people on the planet into becoming a hivemind (referred to as The Others), bar a select immune few who find complacency in their newfound rule over The Others. Carol Sturka, a renowned author, navigates the new world and must decide whether she becomes complacent too, or helps return the world to what it was. Read the synopsis below:

Season 1 finished with Carol discovering that The Others planned to turn her into one of them, and she decides to team with Manousos Oviedo; after being gifted an atomic bomb, she plans to wipe out The Others.
It’s unknown if this character is a member of The Others or yet another immune individual set to join Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn) in her journey to return the planet to normalcy. Though, given the expectation that the role will only be on set for an eight-hour shoot, it is likely an Other with a speaking role, though with no real plot relevance.
The commencement of the casting process does typically signify the beginning of pre-production, and once casting is completed and schedules have been set, filming will begin, bringing audiences closer to Pluribus Season 2. This news comes after the reveal that the production applied to extend their permit to film in their recreated neighbourhood through 2028 and was promptly approved by the City of Albuquerque.
Pluribus stars Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka, Karolina Wydra as Zosia, and Carlos Manuel Vesga as Manousos Oviedo. The first season is now streaming on Apple TV and a second season is coming soon.
