‘Wuthering Heights’ Digital Release Date Reportedly Revealed

Emerald Fennell’s latest provocative project, a reimagining of Emily Brontë’s timeless classic Wuthering Heights, is reportedly set to debut on digital and premium video on demand services much sooner than initially thought.

Wuthering Heights tells the lifelong romance between Catherine (Margot Robbie) and Heathcliff (Jacob Elordi). Friends from childhood, but never confessing their love to one another, Wuthering Heights is over one hundred years older and has been adapted dozens of times in the time since it released. Fennell’s adaptation evokes her teenage experience, with music by Charli xcx and over sexualized style to strengthen the erotic fantasy elements from the original book.

When Does ‘Wuthering Heights’ (2026) Arrive On Digital?

Now that the film is in theatres, and succeeding at the box office at that, the film will next move to a digital and premium video on demand release, with a streaming release on HBO Max soon to follow that. Website DVDs Release Dates has listed the film as releasing on digital and PVOD on March 31st, 2026.

This would mean that there would be a 46 day gap between initial theatrical release (in the US) and its digital release, obliging the typical 45 day theatrical exclusivity rule studios often abide by. Other recent Warner Bros. films that followed this rule include awards frontrunner One Battle After Another (49 days) and A Minecraft Movie (39 days). Other films that did not stick to this include Weapons, Superman, and The Alto Knights.

Emerald Fennell is best known for her acclaimed filmography which includes Oscar nominated film Promising Young Woman, released in 2020, and her follow up Saltburn, which released in 2023. She also wrote Killing Eve and appeared in a small role in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

Wuthering Heights stars Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi, Hong Chau, Alison Oliver, and Shazad Latif. The film debuted in theatres on February 13th ahead of Valentine’s Day and is now playing in theatres worldwide.
