‘Hytale’ How To Unlock Memories System & Rewards Explained

We’ll discuss the memories system, how to access it and the rewards up for grabs in this article.

Hytale has officially launched in Early Access starting today and players can hop in and experience some of what the game has to offer, including Exploration Mode, Creative Mode, and even install over 85 mods (The Adventure and Minigame modes are planned for a future update). In our first post-launch article, we’ll discuss the Memories System, how to unlock it, and the rewards up for grabs.

How To Unlock The Memories System In Hytale

The Memories System can be unlocked as soon as a player enters their world. First, open the Map (Keybind ‘M’). Once the map has fully loaded, locate the “Forgotten Temple Gateway” waypoint indicated by the swirl symbol with a dot in the middle (the waypoint will also be visible on your compass at the top of the screen).

Once you’ve reached the waypoint, look for a statue with a blue flame, enter the temple behind it. On the left hand side, you’ll see a staircase going downwards. Follow it until the end and you’ll arrive at a basement where an Earthen Golem is standing in front of a blue portal. We recommend you simply rush to the portal, avoiding the Golem so you can instantly unlock its memory when you return to the overworld.

After entering the portal you’ll arrive at the Edge Of The Echo, Forgotten Temple. Keep going forward until you arrive at a statue which glows as you approach closer. Interact with the Heart Of Orbis to unlock the Memory feature, upon doing so you’ll unlock memories for the Duck, Kweebec Seedling and Frog. You can choose to register these memories after interacting with the statue again or you can begin collecting even more memories by approaching the various creatures of Orbis (memories are recording by standing within 3 blocks of the creature)

Memories And Where To Find Them

At Early Access Launch, there are a total of 240 memories to collect split across 18 categories. Players will have to venture all across and below Orbis to unlock these memories, see a list of the memories and areas where you can find them below:

You could say that Memories act as a sort of bestiary for Hytale. However in Early Access, selecting a creature will only display its name, an image of the creature, where it was found and the date it was found.

Please note you will need to return to the Forgotten Temple whenever you need to register memories and check your progress.
