Sebastian Stan In Talks To Join ‘The Batman Part II’
Sebastian Stan has joined talks for The Batman Part II, seemingly for the role casting in the 40s age range that is said to be for Harvey Dent.
With little less than four months before the film’s scheduled production start, The Batman Part II is deep in the casting process, having already bagged Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Gold and now the casting directors and director Matt Reeves are looking to cast more vital roles for the film. In the second piece of major casting news for the film, American-Romanian actor Sebastian Stan has joined talks to join The Batman Part II.
Best known for his portrayal of Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sebastian Stan is an actor who portrays a wide range of characters, ranging from character studies like A Different Man and The Apprentice (where he played Donald Trump in the latter), and comedies such as Pam & Tommy and Hot Tub Time Machine.

Now, the actor has joined talks for The Batman Part II, seemingly for the role casting in the 40s age range that is said to be for Harvey Dent, the husband of Gilda Gold. If true, that means Christopher Dent, the male 60s role, remains to be cast and following Brad Pitt’s passing on the role, it remains to be seen who will take up the moniker of Harvey’s abusive alcoholic father.
Harvey Dent was previously played, in live-action, by Aaron Eckhart in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, by Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever, and by Harry Lawtey in Joker: Folie à Deux. It will mark the third live-action appearance of the character, if the casting rumour turns out true. Harvey Dent is the lawyer turned criminal kingpin with a split personality, coming from a horrible childhood and a disfigurement leaving half his face scarred and burnt by acid.

Sebastian Stan most recently appeared in The Apprentice, Captain America: Brave New World, and Thunderbolts*, and is set to appear in Fjord, besides Renate Reinsve, and in Marvel Studios’ blockbuster saga ender Avengers: Doomsday, reprising his role as The Winter Soldier. If the deal goes through, he will collaborate with Robert Pattinson a second time, as well as reuniting with Scarlett Johansson following her MCU role as Black Widow.
The Batman, of course, was masterminded by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman as the world’s greatest detective in his early years as he investigates mysteries and fights crime. This puts him against foes such as Paul Dano’s The Riddler (the villain of 2022’s The Batman), Barry Keoghan’s unseen Arkham prisoner (a version of The Joker yet to be seen in action), Colin Farrell’s The Penguin (an evil out of touch mobster), and surely many more. It has also put him beside allies such as Andy Serkis’ Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright’s Jim Gordon, and Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman.

The Batman Part II is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, Scarlett Johannson, Andy Serkis, Barry Keoghan, and many more. The film is due out on October 1, 2027.
