The third act sees Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) take up his mantle of Turok Makto in order to unite the the various Na’vi clans against the Sky People, but just as the Na’vi are winning, Colonel Quaritch (Stephen Lang) and his ally Varang (Oona Chaplin) provide reinforcements and turn the tides against them. They injure Neytiri (Zoe SaldaƱa) and Jake, leaving Lo’ak (Britain Dalton), Spider (Jack Champion), Kiri (Sigourney Weaver) and Tuk (Trinity Bliss) to fend for themselves.

Kiri, Spider, and Tuk use their kurus to enter the spirit world and beg Eywa for help, who soon provides the help of several ocean creatures, helping them ultimately win. In this process, Scoresby (Brendan Cowell) is killed by a tulkun and General Ardmore (Edie Falco) dies in an explosion. Ronal (Kate Winslet), injured in the battle, passes away shortly after giving birth to a baby girl, entrusting the infants survival to Neytiri.

Meanwhile, Jake fights Quaritch but when Spider needs saving, Quaritch jumps after him and Jake is left to rescue the two of them, reaching a point of neutrality. Neytiri, Tsireya (Bailey Bass), Lo’ak, and more, arrive to help Jake and threaten Quaritch, but Jake stops them and Quaritch jumps off the floating island, leaving his fate unknown.

As the movie closes, Kiri guides Spider through the spirit world for the first team, where he meets the ancestors, including the spirits of Neteyam (Jamie Flatters) and Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver). The film zooms out and the title card plays, queuing Miley Cyrus’ song for the film “Dream As One.”
