‘The Batman Part II’ To Include Harvey Dent, Gilda Gold & Christopher Dent
We finally have news regarding the introduction of a certain Harvey Dent and Gilda Gold in The Batman Part II.
It’s been a week filled with news for The Batman Part II, from casting Scarlett Johansson to finding out Brad Pitt passed on a role, we now have our first proper details about the plot of the movie. A new report suggests that not only will Harvey Dent join the cast of characters of The Batman Part II but his wife and father will too.
The news was broken by The InSneider’s Jeff Sneider, who recently revealed that Brad Pitt was in talks for the film but ultimately passed, and that Erik Messerschmidt (The Killer, Mank) would DP the sequel. Now, the insider claims in his Saturday edition of his newsletter that Scarlett Johansson will be playing the wife of Harvey Dent, Gilda Dent (née Gold) and that Matt Reeves, the director of the first and second instalments, reached out to Brad Pitt about playing Christopher Dent, the abusive and alcoholic father of Harvey Dent. Pitt did ultimately pass due to his busy schedule, filming The Riders with Edward Berger in the first half of 2026.
The roles of Christopher and Harvey Dent still have not been cast as far as audiences know, but they are sure to be cast soon ahead of the May 2026 production start. It’s possible that Reeves will look back to actors that previously auditioned or were looked at for the first film, which in this case, Dent is being cast as a male in his 40s. Actors such as Jonah Hill, Oscar Isaac, and Mahershala Ali weren’t able to make it in for one reason or another but could be given a second chance in the second film.
Sneider also says that Doctor Arkham is expected to appear in the film but in a smaller role than the Dents.
As for the roles of the Dent family in The Batman Part II, one Twitter user suggests that the investigation at the heart of the detective noir surrounds the disappearance of Harvey Dent himself. Read the full theory below:
