Invincible concluded its third season with the 25th episode titled “I Thought You’d Never Shut Up” on March 13th, 2025. Three months later, the series was renewed for a fourth season, with a fifth season renewed in July 2025. During the SDCC panel Kirkman revealed the release window for the upcoming fourth season of Invincible, stating that it would release in late 2026. He then went on to joke that the show’s fifth season will release in 2032: “You can quote me on that.” He also went on to state that he hopes the series can last for 7-9 seasons: “About 7 to 8 to 9 I think, would be necessary to do the complete arc from the comics of Invincible.”

That’s not all, as we also learnt of a new cast member: Matthew Rhys known for his work as Emperor Belos in The Owl House and Nite Owl in the Watchmen animated films, joins the cast of Invincible as Dinosaurus. Dinosaurus debuts in Invincible Issue #68 and is the split personality of his human counterpart, David Anders. Dinosaurus aimed to help humanity but through destructive means such as blowing up the North Pole. He was initially an ally to Invincible before this event occurred. He’s eventually defeated by Invincible and taken into custody by The Guardians.

The animation is also set to improve, with Kirkman mentioning, “I will say the animation is absolutely rad, the Conquest fight at the end of Season 3 shows where the show is going and the heights the show can achieve. We’re hoping to hit those heights more & more.”

Invincible is created by Robert Kirkman and stars Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson / Invincible, J.K. Simmons as Nolan Grayson / Omni-Man, Gillian Jacobs as Samantha Eve Wilkins / Atom Eve and more. Season four premieres on Prime Video in late 2026.

Battle Beast Joins Invincible VS

We first heard that an AAA game based on the Invincible franchise was in development back in April 2024 which was currently undergoing a crowdfunding phase. Given that Skybound described this title as having “cutting-edge competitive gameplay, premium production values, and the most advanced online and technical foundations” it’s safe to assume that they were referring to the now revealed Invincible VS.  The game was first revealed at the Xbox Summer Showcase during the Summer Game Fest. This is the second video game based on the Invincible franchise, following the release of RPG + Visual Novel, Invincible Presents: Atom Eve which released on PC on November 14, 2023

At the Robert Kirkman panel, attendees were introduced to the next roster member for the 2D Fighter, Battle Beast, with a gameplay trailer that showcased Battle Beast facing off against the likes of Rex Splode, IInvincible, and Thula. Per the official website, Battle Beast is the sixth member of the roster (which includes Invincible, Atom Eve, Bulletproof, Thula, and Rex Splode), with one more character yet to be revealed.

Invincible VS is developed by Quarter Up in collaboration with Skybound Games. The game launches on Steam, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 in 2026.
