‘Fortnite’ x ‘Star Wars’ Live Event: How To Prepare

Fortnite x Star Wars Part 5, ‘Death Star Sabotage’ is fast approaching. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Fortnite Star Wars Live Event.

The Fortnite x Star Wars: Galactic Battle season is coming to a close this week with Part V: Death Star Sabotage, a live event where players will team up to take down the Death Star before it destroys the Fortnite island entirely. The event begins on June 7th at 11AM PT / 2PM ET, today we’ll tell you how to prepare for the upcoming event.

The ‘Death Star Sabotage’ game mode is available through the Discover tab from as early as 9AM PT / 2PM ET, during that waiting period players can fly X-Wings and Imperial TIE fighters until the countdown hits zero where they’ll then begin making their way to the Death Star. Epic recommends that players hop in at least 30 minutes before the event begins to secure a spot, typically live events are when the game is most active and players may have trouble logging into the game at that time so being an early bird is highly recommended.

Additionally, Epic suggests using their mobile or cloud streaming versions of Fortnite in the event that a player is unable to get to their PC or Console in time.

Leading up to the event, players can earn a number of Star Wars themed items simply by logging into the game and participating in a new Twitch event. Players can earn the “Assault on the Death Star” Loading Screen and “Quicksilver Baton Spear” Pickaxe by simply logging in between June 3 at 9 AM ET and June 10 at 9 AM ET.

On the Twitch side of things, a new “Galactic Battle” extension is available, players are tasked with collecting various fortnite-related items that appear on screen, once all are collected players will earn five sprays each representing different star wars factions (Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, Confederacy of Independent Systems, First Order and Jedi Order). Upon first booting up the “Galactic Battle” extension, players will be asked to link their Epic Games account by doing so they’ll instantly unlock the Darth Jar Jar Emoticon.

The “Galactic Battle” extension also features a community goal, once the goal is reached everyone who collected at least one item will be granted the “Galactic War” Loading Screen. A teaser for the live event is also being hinted at for completing the community goal.

Remember that all rewards mentioned will be added to your account within 30 days.
