First ‘Ironheart’ Trailer: A New Genius In Town
The first trailer for Ironheart has finally arrived and there’s a lot more than tech involved in the upcoming series.

Ironheart is one of the final pre-overhaul series left in the Marvel pipeline. First announced all the way back during the Disney Investor Day on December 10th, 2020. We also learnt of Dominique Thorne’s casting as the titular hero during that event. As the months went on we learnt of additional casting such as Anthony Ramos who was set to play series villain, The Hood. And after a long wait, the first trailer has arrived.
Filming for the series began at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia in June 2022 and shifted to Chicago by October of that year. Filming would conclude in early November 2022. Due to a number of release date changes, Ironheart eventually became the final project for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the release of Thunderbolts* earlier this month.
Today, the first trailer for the six-episode series has been released, you can view it below.
We also received a poster which depicts Riri Williams / Ironheart (Dominique Thorne) standing in front of the beginnings of her Mk III armor. You can view that below.
What Happens In The Ironheart Trailer?
The trailer opens with Riri Williams aka Ironheart (Dominique Thorne) visiting a closed Desperito’s Pizza , the place is empty and she goes to an elevator located at the back of the restaurant. A strange bag is inside and the elevator shuts down. Someone is monitoring her on the camera, she bangs on the elevator buttons and it reveals a timer for 3 minutes. A voice tells Riri that she has only 3 minutes before the air becomes unbreathable calling it her “interview”. The bag has a gas mask to help Riri survive, her goal is to break it open.
Riri instead forces the door open, Parker Robbins (Anthony Ramos) compliments her by saying “I heard Riri Williams was a genius.” He offers her cash and asks if she is “in or out?” We witness a scene of Riri visiting MIT at night and we cut to her in a lab, coding, working on her Mark IV suit and seeing some machines short circuit. Another scene sees someone ask Riri why she isn’t working at a fancy tech firm, we then get brief flashbacks to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which Riri refers to as her internship abroad.
Riri explains that her time in Wakanda inspired her to “build something undeniable, something…”, we see shots of her in a garage working on her Mk III suit. Continuing the quote Parker asks “important?” to which Riri responds “iconic”. Parker says “I can give you the tools to carry out your vision”, we see a briefcase full of cash. We cut to a security room being attacked by three characters played by Shakira Barrera, Manny Montana and Zoe Terakes. We see Riri and Alden Ehrenreich’s character reveal a completed Mk III suit.
We see a brief glimpse of the NATALIE AI (Lyric Ross), we see additional action shots featuring various characters such as Riri and Parker. Riri’s friend Zelma says she’s bitten off more than she can chew. We get a complete look at Mk IV armor and a test flight followed by a shot of The Hood’s cloak and Parker’s back being corrupted. A brief shot shows Ironheart and The Hood potentially fighting each other. The final shot before the logo shows Riri being chased by a truck, her Mk III armor flies towards her and she’s able to stop the truck.
The final scene of the trailer shows Riri entering a bunker owned by Alden Ehrenreich’s character. She calls it shady which he’s offended by and points to the Live, Laugh, Love sign.

Ironheart is created by Chinaka Hodge and stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams / Ironheart, Anthony Ramos as Parker Robbins / The Hood and more. The Ryan Coogler produced series premieres with three episodes on Disney+ on June 24th.
