The latest Star Wars series Skeleton Crew continues with a new episode titled “You Have A Lot To Learn About Pirates”. Read our Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 5 review below.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew follows a group of students who uncover a mysterious bunker on their home planet of At Attin, they eventually get lost in the galaxy and must find their way home making friends and foes along the way. Read the synopsis:
Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.
Where we last left off, the crew found themselves on one of At Attin’s neighbouring planets, At Achrann. Things look hopeful as the crew find coordinates to the other planets but that hope is immediately crushed when they discover that the At Attin coordinates were destroyed long ago by someone close to them.
This episode finally gives us a glimpse into the lives of the crew’s parents and how they contribute to the mysterious “Great Work”. However, the parents have ulterior motives as they work together to get a message to their kids.
The latest planet the crew find themselves in is called Lanupa, I was immediately blown away by the beauty of the planet combining a snowy region with some lovely architecture that represented a sacred feeling.
We really witness Jod’s (Jude Law) short temper trying to work with the kids as their lives are in grave danger, despite this, you still see the love and care he has developed for them.
We finally get some pirate action in this episode as Jod’s past catches up with him leading him to an encounter with a fellow bounty hunter Pokkit (Kelly Macdonald). It also featured quite the adventure as the crew search for treasure from a legendary pirate with twists and turns to boot. It also tries to get a bit dark, showcasing and alluding to terrible fates for some of the characters involved.
Overall I really enjoyed this episode, it finally gave us the true pirate adventure I’ve eagerly awaited from the series filled with treasure and some good old trickery.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 5 was directed by Jake Schreier and stars Jude Law as Jod Na Nawood, Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern, Kyriana Kratter as KB and Robert Timothy Smith as Neel.
